On March 29, BTS’s V appeared on Jung Jae Hyung’s YouTube channel and shared various stories, including his debut process.
In particular, he garnered attention for sharing the exact moment he began to dream of becoming a singer.
“When I was young, I liked it when adults would clap and say I looked pretty when I danced in front of them. That is why I started thinking about standing on stage.”

A single remark from his grandmother helped him solidify his dreams.
“There was a banner in Geochang of actor Kang Dong Won, and my grandmother pointed at it and said, ‘Become someone like that.’ After hearing that, I completely accepted those words.”

He added, “I heard that I am the one hanging on banners in Geochang now.”
He also explained in detail how he first started music.
“When I was in sixth grade, I wanted to turn my dream into a reality and told my father about it. He said I should learn at least one instrument and that there could be potential if I went to an arts high school. I chose to learn the saxophone and learned it for four years.”

It also turned out that his father wanted to be a celebrity too.
“I found out later that my father had dreamed of becoming a celebrity, had prepared to be an entertainer, and even worked as an FD at Daegu MBC. Although his opportunity didn’t come, it came to me.”

He also expressed his gratitude to fans, “We were given a precious opportunity not because of us, but by the fans promoting and working hard to make it happen for us.”
