Global artists BTS are bringing ‘BTS THE CITY ‘ARIRANG’ to London for ‘BTS THE CITY LONDON’ to the United Kingdom from July 4 to 10.
Like the previous THE CITY locations (Seoul, Las Vegas, and Busan), London will be transformed into a celebration of BTS music, fan culture, and experiences that extend far beyond the concert venue. The citywide experience will consist of landmark illuminations, exhibitions, immersive fan activations, and collaborations with local communities and businesses.
BTS is set to perform for two nights on July 6 and 7 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for their BTS World Tour ARIRANG. So the THE CITY LONDON events will begin on July 4 at the Korean Cultural Centre UK (KCCUK) with music video screenings, photo zones, and a showcase of BTS’s iconic stage outfits from their historic Wembley performances during their 2019 BTS World Tour “Love Yourself: Speak Yourself”, which marked the group as the first South Korean act to headline there. If fans remember, this concert was the moment ARMY sang “EPILOGUE: Young Forever” to the members, prompting many of them to tear up, which was documented.
Some of the landmarks that will illuminate in red for ARIRANG include the London Eye, along with the BTS THE CITY LONDON boat experience on the River Thames.
From July 8 to 10, ARMY MADANG at Outernet will feature immersive experiences, exclusive merchandise, and more. The Samsung Galaxy Experience Booth will offer visitors interactive programs, including personalized messages, keepsakes, and more. The Imagine Your Korea! The Korean Tourism Organization will host a pop-up inviting people to “immerse themselves in Korean culture through music, dance, and interactive experiences.” The NIKE x BTS pop-up store will be open for the purchase of their latest collaboration.
THE CITY LONDON will also partner with several local food and beverage establishments, including popular Korean restaurants – Hongdae Pocha, Deun Deun, DOPI, and more. Like BTS, The City’s impact on Las Vegas is expected to boost the local economy.
THE CITY programs have been successful in Seoul, Las Vegas, and Busan, with business and tourism seeing increased visitor numbers.
