Kim Taehyung, aka V from BTS, just released his new digital single “FRI(END)S.”
“FRI(END)S” is a pop soul R&B track that sings of a heartwarming confession, heralding the onset of spring, as Taehyung’s rich, soulful vocals effortlessly traverse between low and high ranges.
Through its witty lyrics, “FRI(END)S” expresses the desire to “put the ‘end’ in friends” and elevate a longstanding friendship to a deeper level, as cleverly hinted by the title’s wordplay—’END’ bracketed in the word ‘FRIENDS.’
On Spotify, “FRI(END)S” debuted at No. 7 on the Global Spotify Chart with 4,728,233 streams. It marks the biggest debut by a male artist and K-pop act globally in 2024.
“FRI(END)S” was recorded prior to the release of Taehyung’s debut EP “Layover,” during which he left a message for his fans.
Through a statement made via BIGHIT MUSIC, Taehyung said, “‘FRI(END)S’ is a track I recorded while searching for something special to offer my fans. It’s full of charm, so I truly believe it will be loved by ARMY.”
