BTS‘s Jin and TXT‘s Taehyun are labelmates under BIGHIT MUSIC. Yet, there is something else they have in common…
They have the same sweater!
The sweater in question is the off-white Bode Bay Stripe Sweater, which costs $690 USD. It features a self-tie keyhole at the crewneck and dropped shoulders.
Jin wore this sweater for the hugging session of his 2024 FESTA fanmeeting as he and the ARMYs celebrated BTS’s 11th anniversary and his military discharge.
The sweater appears inspired by the Swedish fictional children’s book character, Pippi Longstocking. The red and blue striped sweater was popularized by the Pippi Longstocking films in 1969. According to creator Astrid Lindgren, Pippi Longstocking is “regularly voted as one of the world’s favourite children’s characters; self-sufficient, quick-witted, generous and never letting anything – or anyone – shake her self-belief or take advantage.”
Jin’s wearing of the sweater felt intentional, as he displays characteristics much like Pippi. He’s witty, fun, and generous, just like her! Styled with jeans and the sweater tied with a bow, Jin had a playful and youthful appearance.
Recently, TXT’s Taehyun wore the same sweater. He wore it for the Atlanta, GA, stop of 2024 TOMORROW X TOGETHER WORLD TOUR <ACT : PROMISE> in U.S.
Taehyun left the sweater untied, revealing some of his chest and adding necklaces for a sexier look. He also kept it casual with jorts, giving a summer vibe.
The little styling differences made for very different aesthetics, but both idols made the sweater look so good! They proved what a versatile piece it truly is.
