Fans criticize BigHit Music for lack of support ahead of J-Hope’s world tour.

With BTS’s j-hope set to embark on his first solo world tour, frustration among fans is reaching a boiling point over BigHit Music’s lack of promotion.

On social media platform X, fans launched a hashtag campaign, trending phrases like #HYBE_do_your_job and #Support_your_artists_properly, accusing the company of neglecting its responsibilities in supporting J-Hope’s solo career.

Despite j-hope’s world tour kicking off on February 28th, BigHit Music has only posted ticket sales notices since January 10th, with no promotional content or detailed updates. Fans are demanding proper marketing and visibility for J-Hope’s tour.

Fans’ grievances against BigHit Music

1. Poor ticketing communication

• Fans claim that seating restrictions were not properly disclosed.

• Seoul’s obstructed-view seats were announced, but five North American cities were not mentioned at all.

• Ticketing information was inconsistently shared, with some updates only posted by local ticketing platforms rather than BigHit Music.

2. Inadequate digital marketing efforts

• Fans noted that J-Hope himself had to open a TikTok account and initiate his own countdown content, questioning why the agency is not actively promoting the tour.

• The HYBE community app, Weverse, has also lacked updates and engagement.

3. Confusing membership policies for North American shows

• U.S. ticket sales required a separate American membership purchase, blocking existing global members from accessing early ticket sales.

• HYBE failed to properly inform fans, leading to widespread confusion and frustration.

4. Live streaming issues

• Fans compared j-hope’s concert streaming quality to other BTS members’ past events and found it inferior, noting that 4K resolution was removed while the price remained the same.

• The 3-day streaming pass costs ₩165,000 (approx. $125 USD), almost the same as an offline concert ticket, yet fans feel the service quality has declined.

5. No announcement about J-Hope’s upcoming single

• American rapper Don Toliver recently confirmed that J-Hope, Speedy, and Pharrell Williams will release the song ‘LV Bag’ on February 21st—but BigHit Music has yet to acknowledge it.

• Additionally, HYBE’s investor reports hinted at J-Hope releasing a new album in March, yet fans have not been informed.

• Fans are questioning why a new album would drop mid-world tour without any pre-release marketing.

Some fans, frustrated by the lack of promotional support, are urging j-hope not to renew his contract with BigHit Music.

• “J-Hope is finally returning to solo activities after his military discharge, and this is the level of support he gets? Unacceptable.”

• “At this point, we just hope J-Hope finds a company that actually respects and promotes him.”

• “HYBE is not only failing to promote J-Hope—they’re actively making it harder for fans to support him.”

As anticipation builds for J-Hope’s ‘HOPE ON THE STAGE’ tour, fans are demanding transparency and proper management from BigHit Music before it’s too late.
