On April 19 KST, a fellow soldier who fulfilled his mandatory military service duties in the same unit as BTS member V shared a heartfelt message of gratitude toward the K-Pop star.
The soldier, who was discharged from his duties before V, relayed his gratitude by writing on SNS,
“To. Taehyungie hyung.
Taehyungie hyung, I didn’t get a chance to thank you for all that you did for me during my time in the unit, so I’ve decided to leave you a message here.
Even with your injuries in your shoulders and thighs, you ranked 1st in target shooting, 1st in the winter urban warfare training, and received the Military Police Exemplary Award. Watching you really helped push myself in my training too. And during our last physical examination together, we kept pushing each other on during the 3 km run so we could both make exemplary rank, and in the end, we both finished with more than enough time for exemplary rank. That was really something. I think I’ll remember that for a long time. And all those days when we went to work out with Sunghyun, rain or shine, we got to work out with the nice equipment that you donated, and all that sweating together in the gym, those are all really special memories to me. And you always bought us all the food we wanted when we got to leave the base or visit the PX. Thank you for doing that. I still can’t forget about the eel sushi. It was delicious…
More than all of that, it was your strong work ethic and your passion that helped me set my sights on my own goal of becoming a physical therapist. Thanks to you, I was able to keep up my efforts in both exercise and studying during my military service. Even after I was discharged, the passion that I learned to nurture in the military stayed with me and made me want to pursue my goal wholeheartedly.
I really enjoyed my time in the unit because of you, hyung. I won’t give up, I’ll keep on trying, just like you, hyung. Always stay healthy, hyung!”
The former soldier also shared some friendly photos taken with V during his service, demonstrating their close bond.
Meanwhile, V is currently carrying out his mandatory military service duties as a member of the Special Duty Team (SDT) of the ROK Military Police Force. He is set to be discharged from his duties on June 10 of this year.
