Professional dancer and choreographer Leejung Lee has heaped praise on Kim Taehyung, aka V of BTS, for his impressive dance skills, humble nature, and inspiring work ethic — describing him as a true role model for artists and fans alike.
In an interview held at a café in Yongsan, Seoul, on July 24, Leejung Lee discussed her recent projects, including her participation in Mnet’s Street Woman Fighter: World Championship and her creative collaboration on the animated film K-Pop: Demon Hunters.
When asked about her viral dance challenges with Taehyung — which have captivated fans and gained widespread praise online — Leejung opened up about their shared passion for dance. She explained:
“We’re connected through dance. He loves dance just as much as I do, and that creates a real connection between us. We have great synergy when we meet. He’s someone I genuinely look up to — a true role model for me.
For me, dance is my profession, so of course I devote myself fully to it. But for him, dance is just one part of his profession — he also has to sing and do many other things — yet he still genuinely loves dance as much as I do. And he’s really humble and works even harder than I do. Watching him makes me feel like I can’t afford to make compromises. If he works that hard, then since it’s my profession, I have to work even harder. He’s someone who gives me tremendous energy.”
Their collaborations span three dance challenges choreographed by Leejung, which have gone viral on TikTok. The first was filmed during Taehyung’s military leave last year, featuring the two dancing to “What’s Your Fantasy (feat. Shawnna).”
The next two videos were recorded the next day after his military discharge, set to “Don’t Drop That Thun Thun (Remix 98 BPM)” and “WHATCHU KNO ABOUT ME.”
