BTS has added yet another historic achievement on Melon’s year-end chart.
On January 8, Melon unveiled its 2025 Melon Year-End Top 100, covering data from January 1 to December 31 last year. BTS ranked No. 77 with “Spring Day,” the title track from their second full-length repackage album You Never Walk Alone.
Released in February 2017, “Spring Day” has now charted on Melon’s annual ranking for nine consecutive years, marking the longest-running entry in the platform’s year-end chart history.
Industry insiders attributed the feat to sustained listener support. “Its empathetic lyrics and lyrical melody have continued to resonate with music fans over a long period of time,” one source explained.
The song’s records extend beyond the year-end chart. “Spring Day” became the first track on the platform to surpass 1 billion cumulative streams and also holds the record for the longest run on the daily chart at seven years and eleven months.
Musically, “Spring Day” blends alternative hip-hop with Brit rock sensibilities and electronic sounds. Members RM and Suga infused the lyrics with personal experiences, adding emotional depth to the track.
Last year, Rolling Stone selected “Spring Day” as No. 37 on its list of the “Greatest Songs of the 21st Century,” describing it as “a transcendent expression of hope blooming out of loss.”
In addition, Jungkook’s first solo single “Seven” ranked No. 60 on the Melon year-end chart, extending its presence for a third consecutive year and continuing its long-term popularity.
Meanwhile, BTS is set to release its fifth full-length album on March 20. The upcoming album will feature a total of 14 tracks.
