The recently released official English teaching materials of Paraguay’s Ministry of Education and Science included an English exercise featuring J-Hope as the main character. The question required students to look at a picture of a J-Hope doll of TinyTan, a character based on the real Bulletproof Boys, and fill in the four blanks of a sentence describing the doll with the appropriate English words.
The text presented together clearly states that he is a J-Hope singer, lives in Korea and is a member of BTS, an example of the global recognition and influence of BTS and J-hop. BTS fans who came in contact with the news are having a great time-solving problems half a year after J-Hope’s appearance.
Earlier, Jai Hop was also featured in a TV educational program produced by the Peruvian Ministry of Education last year. Peru’s national broadcaster, TV Peru, produced a program called “Aprendo En Casa” (Learning from Home) on June 11, 2020, about the influence of Asian culture on Peruvian youth.
The program referred to the Bulletproof Youth League as a representative of K-pop, with particular emphasis on the J-Hope solo song “Chicken Noodle Soup.
This can be seen in a scene that aired for more than two minutes, in which a male student visited a dance academy to learn the dance from the music video for “Chicken Noodle Soup”. The dance academy instructor also said of “Chicken Noodle Soup,” “It’s my favorite song. It has gained immense popularity,” he said, making us realize the popularity of J-Hope in the Peruvian region.
