BTS member V’s solo album ‘Layover‘ has demonstrated immense global popularity, with its vinyl edition repeatedly selling out in both the UK and the US.
On October 18, the ‘Layover’ LP sold out across several UK retailers, including the BTS Official UK Store, Record Store UK, Polydor, and The Sound of Vinyl. The LP sold out almost immediately after its release, making it the second time it had sold out. It first sold out during the pre-order period, which started on August 20 and ended upon selling out on September 1.
On October 19, the album continued to sell out at more UK retailers, including Horizons Music, Hive, WHSmith, SOKOLLAB, and Kyyo, totaling nine stores in the UK.
In the US, the LP also sold out at multiple stores and ranked as a bestseller. On October 18, it sold out at Barnes & Noble’s online store, while it had previously sold out in late September and early October at the BTS USA Official Store, Weverse Official US Store, and retailers like Target, Tower Records, and Elusive Disc. At Target, the LP sold out three times.
Additionally, it ranked as the #1 bestseller at major US retailers such as Amazon, Walmart, and Best Buy.
In Japan, the LP sold out within a day of pre-orders opening at the BTS Official Japan Store and Universal Music Japan. After restocks, it continued to sell out multiple times, and it reached #1 on Oricon’s Daily Album chart and Amazon Japan’s Imported Albums ranking. In South Korea, it topped the real-time bestseller charts for the CD/LP category on Yes24 and claimed the top spot in the overall bestseller rankings on Aladdin.
