BTS’s Jimin has donated 100 million KRW (around 75,000 USD) to support students in North Jeolla Province.
On September 25, the Jeonbuk Provincial Office of Education confirmed to Dispatch that Jimin’s representatives had expressed his wish to contribute the funds back in July. The donation was arranged through Jimin’s father and transferred to the Love Scholarship Foundation.
The money will provide scholarships for elementary, middle, high school, and special school students, benefiting both top achievers and those in financial need. This is Jimin’s sixth donation to local education offices—since 2019, he has given the same amount to Busan, Jeonnam, Gangwon, Chungbuk, and Gyeongnam.
Jimin is well known for his philanthropy. He has donated over 100 million KRW to the Green Umbrella Children’s Foundation, joining its prestigious Green Noble Club of major donors. He has also contributed 100 million KRW each to the Army’s Patriotism and Comradeship Fund, as well as relief efforts following the Turkey-Syria earthquake.
Meanwhile, BTS is gearing up for a full-group album slated for release in the first half of next year.
