BTS’s Jungkook sets new record as first K-pop solo artist with 18 songs over 100 million Spotify streams

Jungkook has set another remarkable record by achieving 18 songs with over 100 million streams on the world’s largest music platform, Spotify.

Jungkook’s track ‘Somebody’, from his first solo album ‘GOLDEN’, released in November last year, recently surpassed 100 million streams on Spotify.

‘Somebody’ is the eighth song from the ‘GOLDEN’ album to surpass 100 million streams, further solidifying Jungkook’s global influence.

This marks his 15th solo track to hit the 100 million milestone on Spotify, joining previous hits like ‘Seven,’ ‘3D,’ ‘Standing Next to You,’ ‘Yes or No,’ ‘Please Don’t Change,’ ‘Hate You,’ ‘Closer to You,’ ‘Left and Right,’ ‘Too Much,’ ‘Stay Alive,’ ‘Dreamers,’ ‘Still with You,’ ‘My You,’ and ‘Never Let Go.’

Jungkook also holds three additional songs with over 100 million streams from BTS albums: ‘Euphoria,’ ‘My Time,’ and ‘Begin.’ In total, he now has 18 songs with over 100 million streams.

With this achievement, Jungkook becomes the first and only K-pop solo artist to have 18 songs surpassing 100 million streams on Spotify. Additionally, ‘GOLDEN’ is the first album by an Asian solo artist to have eight songs exceed 100 million streams.

Jungkook’s debut solo single ‘Seven’ broke numerous records, becoming the fastest song in Spotify history to surpass 100 million, 900 million, 1 billion, and 1.1 billion streams. As of September, the track has accumulated over 1.88 billion streams and is quickly approaching 1.9 billion.

Furthermore, Jungkook is the first and only Asian solo artist to have three songs—‘Seven,’ ‘Standing Next to You,’ and ‘Left and Right’—with over 800 million streams. He also holds five songs that have surpassed 500 million streams, including ‘Seven,’ ‘3D,’ ‘Standing Next to You,’ ‘Left and Right,’ and ‘Euphoria.’

Jungkook’s solo album ‘GOLDEN’ also holds the distinction of being the first and only album by an Asian solo artist to reach 4.2 billion streams on Spotify, setting the record for the fastest album by an Asian artist to do so.

In addition, Jungkook recently became the first K-pop solo artist to surpass 7 billion streams across all credits on his personal Spotify profile.
