New surveillance footage has emerged in the ongoing investigation into BTS member SUGA’s DUI incident.
Previously, SUGA was discovered by police after he fell off an electric scooter in the Hannam-dong area of Seoul. Tests revealed his blood alcohol concentration was 0.227%, reportedly the highest recorded in a celebrity DUI case in South Korea. Under South Korean law, operating an electric scooter while intoxicated is treated the same as driving a car under the influence, and SUGA is now facing a criminal investigation.
On August 13, new surveillance footage revealed SUGA falling off the scooter after making a sudden stop.
Following the latest footage release, Korean netizens gathered in an online community to comment on the CCTV video.
They commented:
“Just say you blacked out.”
“How can everything be such a lie?”
“People in our country hate lies the most. The reason so many celebrities couldn’t make a comeback after a scandal is because they lied. I wonder why they even bothered to release such a false apology.”
“Did he really think the world would just go on if he lied? How stupid do you have to be to live like that?”
“They need to revise that apology. Isn’t there anything left to salvage?”
“How little must they think of their fans?”
“Thank goodness no one was hurt… Wow… And after all that, they said he just fell over near his house?”
“Maybe he’s one of those people who thinks the sidewalk is home when he’s drunk.”
“He was riding on the sidewalk? He’s so lucky there were no victims.”
“He was riding on the sidewalk?? Forget leaving the group, he should retire.”
“How many lies are there…”
“Now they’re saying it wasn’t an e-scooter, but an electric scooter.”
“This is the worst.”
“Wow, I realize now… I always got a bad feeling just looking at him, and it turned out I was right. All the idols with that kind of vibe have had scandals. If the idol is like that, it’s no wonder the fans are too.”
“Lies just breed more lies… How far will this go?”
