BTS member J-Hope aka Hobi recently surprised fans with an unexpected reveal while taking part in a trending dance challenge. The rapper-dancer shared a video on TikTok performing to rookie group CORTIS’ viral track GO!, a lighthearted and fun clip that quickly gained attention online. But what caught fans off guard wasn’t just his sharp choreography. Eagle-eyed ARMYs noticed three fresh tattoos that had never been seen before. Today (September 7), the crooner confirmed the tattoos and now the ARMY can’t keep calm.
The meaning of BTS’ J-hope tattoos
For the first time, fans got a visual confirmation of ink that J-Hope had kept hidden until now, during the WeVerse live. The tattoos, positioned on both his thighs, spell out a personal message that is closely associated with his identity. On his right leg, two lines read “I’m your” and “You’re my,” while his left thigh carries the word “Hope” in larger letters. Together, it forms the phrase: “I’m your Hope, You’re my Hope”, a message he has often used to greet fans during concerts and interviews.

After days of speculation, J-Hope confirmed the tattoos and opened up about their meaning. In a heartfelt explanation, he shared that he had been thinking about this for a long time. He wanted to place meaningful words on the part of his body that has supported him through life, his legs.

He also revealed that he had no plans to get tattooed on his upper body. Instead, his focus had always been on his lower half, where he felt the ink would hold deeper meaning. The decision wasn’t spontaneous, it was something he had quietly considered for years before finally going ahead with it.
The reveal left fans emotional, as many found the gesture both touching and symbolic. For a group that shares such a strong connection with their fanbase, J-Hope’s tattoos felt like a permanent promise.
This move also draws a parallel to fellow BTS member Jungkook, who is known for his extensive body art. While Jungkook’s tattoos are bold and expressive, J-Hope’s approach appears more minimal, yet just as meaningful.
While J-Hope’s tattoos are now confirmed, another mystery remains. Fans continue to speculate whether BTS member V, who appeared in now-deleted photos with tattoo artist Dr. Woo, has also gotten new ink. Until he confirms it himself, fans are left guessing. Stay tuned for more updates!
