BTS member V has addressed concerns about disorderly fan behavior at airports, stressing the importance of safety and respectful conduct.

On July 28, during a live broadcast on the fan communication platform Weverse, V spoke openly about the risks involved in chaotic airport scenes caused by some fans during his arrivals and departures.

He recalled not posing for photos at the airport recently due to safety issues, stating, “The airport doesn’t belong to us.” His comment was a clear reminder that public spaces must be respected by everyone. There have been ongoing concerns about certain fans disregarding order, putting both the artists and bystanders at risk.

V also voiced support for the return of the “Purple Line,” a fan-led safety initiative first introduced in 2018. In that campaign, a small group of fans stood in an organized line holding purple ribbons, a color symbolizing BTS, to ensure the members could travel safely through the airport.

“If fans could bring back the Purple Line and keep things safe and orderly, that would be great,” V said. “Then I could put more thought into what to wear to the airport, maybe even a suit.”

V recently completed his mandatory military service. He enlisted as an active-duty soldier on December 11, 2023, and served for 18 months as part of the Special Task Force under the Army’s Military Police Corps. He was discharged on the morning of June 10, 2025, from the 2nd Corps in Chuncheon, Gangwon Province.

Speaking to the press on the day of his discharge, V said, “During my time in the military, I was able to rebuild both my body and mind. I sincerely thank ARMY for waiting for me. I want to return to you all as soon as possible and give you an amazing performance.”

He continued, “There are still many officers and soldiers who looked out for me. I hope they stay safe and complete their service without injury. I truly appreciate the support, and I will work hard to become a better person in society. Salute.”

When asked what he wanted to do most after his discharge, V replied, “Perform on stage.”

V is now focused on preparing for BTS’s full-group comeback, scheduled for the spring of next year. He had been working on a new album in the United States but returned to Korea briefly to attend a fellow soldier’s discharge ceremony on July 28, drawing attention and excitement from fans.
