Where was gym bro Kim Jong Kook when BTS‘s Jungkook posed with bodybuilder Ma Sun Ho, best known for his appearances in Kim Jong Kook’s YouTube videos? The truth behind the social media update has since been revealed.
On July 29, 2025 (KST), Ma Sun Ho uploaded a picture with the K-Pop superstar (whom he playfully called “the other JK”). The picture inevitably got a lot of attention for the BTS member cameo, but Kim Jong Kook was not happy with how it turned out:

“Ma Sun Ho took a photo with BTS’s Jungkook, and I was definitely there. The three of us took one, too. And I never ask for pictures first, whether it’s V or Jungkook. But that day, Sun Ho said, ‘Hyung, let’s get a picture.’ So the three of us took a nice one together. But then on his Instagram, he only uploaded the one with just him and Jungkook. I was honestly hurt. What am I, some sort of a scandal-ridden, can’t-be-pictured person?!”

In response, Ma Sun Ho clarified that he was hoping to protect Jungkook and not leave Kim Jong Kook out on purpose.
Ma Sun Ho: Yeah, we did take two pictures. One had all three of us, and the other was just me and Jungkook. I asked Jungkook if it was okay to upload, and he said yes. But in one photo, Jungkook’s face was fully visible, while in the other, he was wearing a mask. So I went with the masked one.
Kim Jong Kook: You’re saying Jungkook told you not to upload the full-face one?
Ma Sun Ho: Well, no. It was just me being cautious.
Will we ever get to see the version with Kim Jong Kook in it? Only time will tell.
In addition to causing Kim Jong Kook’s feelings getting hurt, the photo also sparked some discussion over the Starbucks cup in Jungkook’s hand.
