BTS will release a new album this year, it has been confirmed.
The band broke the news last year, hosting a press conference on Weverse watched by over seven million people across the globe. At the time, BTS said: “We’ll be releasing a new BTS album in the spring of next year… We’re also planning a world tour alongside the new album. We’ll be visiting fans all around the world, so we hope you’re as excited as we are.”
Starting the New Year with a bang, BTS have now given fans a date. The K-pop group’s agency Big Hit Music said in a new post on X: “March 20 comeback confirmed…”
The album is the group’s first since ‘BE’ in 2020; the compilation ‘Proof’ was released in 2022, however.
All seven members teased their return in handwritten notes sent to their fanbase to celebrate the New Year, and the notes seem to calibrate around the proposed March 20th release date.
“We’ve waited more earnestly than anyone else,” RM wrote. “The year we’ve been waiting for has finally arrived,” Jimin added. “In 2026, we’ll make even more good memories, so look forward to it!” V said.
In a Weverse broadcast on December 21st, BTS said: “We hope to make a safe comeback this year and that the album does well. Let’s make BTS a huge success.”
So, keep March 20th pencilled in your diary, ARMY…
