BTS officially commenced the North American leg of their ‘BTS WORLD TOUR ‘ARIRANG’’ at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida, on April 25, 2026. This landmark performance represents the group’s first concert in the United States in approximately four years, following their 2022 ‘Permission to Dance on Stage’ engagement in Las Vegas. The opening night was a complete sell-out, signaling a powerful start to their 31-show journey across 12 cities, with upcoming stops scheduled for El Paso, Mexico City, and New York.

Tampa welcomed the global icons by illuminating the city in the group’s signature purple. Mayor Jane Castor ordered the purple lighting of Old City Hall and major downtown bridges, while Tampa International Airport greeted arriving fans with digital welcome displays across its terminals. According to 10 Tampa Bay News, the economic impact of the tour’s stop in the region is estimated to reach between 800 million USD and 900 million USD (1.2 trillion to 1.3 trillion KRW), highlighting the massive commercial influence BTS continues to exert on local economies.

Fan support was equally visible throughout the city as global organizations for member V, including Taehyung Tuesday and V Union, sponsored large video billboards along transit routes between the airport and the stadium. These tributes are set to run through April 30. Local fans also contributed to the festive atmosphere by distributing custom-designed pin buttons featuring Tampa landmarks like the University of Tampa, fostering a unique local connection to the global event.

Media coverage underscored the significance of the group’s return, with FOX 13 Tampa Bay airing a special titled ‘K-Pop: The Seoul Reach.’ to analyze the group’s cultural impact. Following their successful Tampa debut, BTS will travel to El Paso to perform at Sun Bowl Stadium on May 2 and 3. This upcoming performance will mark the first time a Korean artist has headlined a solo stadium concert at the El Paso venue. As the first full-group tour in years, the ‘ARIRANG’ tour is poised to set new milestones in the global music industry.
