A Brazilian fan who repeatedly stalked BTS member Jungkook, ringing the doorbell of his residence 133 times in a single night and secretly entering his property by following a delivery worker, has been given a suspended prison sentence and is expected to be deported from South Korea.

According to a court ruling, Judge Park Ji Won of the Seoul Western District Court sentenced a Brazilian woman, identified only as ‘A,’ to one year in prison, suspended for two years, on May 8. She had been detained and indicted on charges of violating South Korea’s anti-stalking law and trespassing.

Doorbell Rung 133 Times in One Night

The incidents began in December of last year. Court documents revealed that ‘A’ visited Jungkook’s residence in Seoul’s Yongsan District 22 times over approximately one month, beginning on December 7, 2025.

Her actions escalated further the following day. On the evening of December 13, ‘A’ noticed a food delivery worker entering the property through a side gate. She waited outside and slipped through the still-open gate after the delivery worker exited, unlawfully entering Jungkook’s residence.

Continued Stalking Despite Police Warnings

‘A’ was arrested at the scene and released the following day after receiving a strict police warning not to approach the residence again.

However, prosecutors said she continued to visit the property after her release, ringing the doorbell and leaving mail and other items behind.

On December 28, police issued an emergency protective order prohibiting her from coming within 100 meters of Jungkook’s residence. The order was later approved by the court.

She reportedly loitered around the property while waiting for the singer, threw items over the wall, and pushed letters through gaps in the door. On December 12 alone, she rang the home’s doorbell 133 times between the evening and late-night hours, demonstrating what the court described as an extreme level of obsession.

Despite the restriction, A allegedly returned on January 4 and left photographs and printed materials near the property, resulting in additional charges.

Court Cites Lack of Harmful Intent and Imminent Deportation

In delivering the sentence, the court acknowledged the seriousness of the offenses, noting that A continued her behavior despite police warnings and violated the emergency protective order. The victim had also requested severe punishment.

Nevertheless, the court considered several mitigating factors. “The defendant appears to have committed the offenses in an attempt to convey her feelings to the victim and did not intend to cause physical harm,” the court said. It also noted that Jungkook was not directly aware of the repeated doorbell ringing at the time, that ‘A’ did not penetrate deeply into the private living areas of the home, and that the violation of the emergency order was relatively minor.

The court further cited deportation as a key factor in its decision.

According to the ruling, ‘A’ had already spent about three months in detention, and once the judgment becomes final, she is expected to be forcibly deported from South Korea. The court concluded that the likelihood of her reoffending against Jungkook would therefore be low.
