Since all seven members of BTS finished their mandatory military enlistment in their home country of South Korea, the band has reunited and is wasting no time putting its name back out there. The group delivered its first live album this summer, which debuted inside the top 10 on the Billboard 200, and multiple concert films were released to theaters globally.

As the septet writes and records a new album, which is expected in early 2026, Jin — one of the singers in the band — almost scores a new No. 1 hit in America, but barely misses out on dominating once more.

“Rope It” Barely Misses Giving Jin Another No. 1

Jin’s “Rope It” reappears on Billboard’s World Digital Song Sales chart this week. The tune breaks back in at No. 2, tying its all-time high on the list. Coincidentally, “Rope It” has now spent just a pair of frames on the purchase-only ranking, and it returns to the same spot it debuted in this past May.

Israel Kamakawiwo‘ole’s “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” Keeps Jin From No. 1

Jin is blocked from running the show on the World Digital Song Sales chart by a classic. “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” by Israel Kamakawiwo‘ole holds at No. 1 yet again, as that tune — one of the longest-running champions on any Billboard tally — is once again the top-selling cut that fits the roster’s rubric. “Somewhere Over the Rainbow,” which helped bring Hawaiian music and the ukulele to popularity decades ago, has spent 819 weeks on the list.

Jin Maintains a Perfect Streak of Top 10 Hits

Jin has racked up 17 solo hits on the World Digital Song Sales chart, and that’s to say nothing of the more than 100 tunes from BTS that have landed on the tally. Every single one of his own cuts has reached the top 10, as the ranking only includes that many positions these days. Of his 17 smashes, eight have gone all the way to No. 1.

Which Jin Solo Songs Have Spent the Most Time at No. 1?

Two of Jin’s eight champions have commanded the World Digital Song Sales ranking for more than one frame. “The Astronaut” and “Super Tuna” are tied with one another as his longest-running rulers, with three weeks at No. 1 apiece. Six other smashes — “Nothing Without Your Love,” “Falling Heart,” “On the Window” with Wendy, “Close to You,” “I’ll Be There,” and “Yours” — each spent just one frame at No. 1.

“Rope It” Adds to Jin’s Near-Misses on the Billboard Charts

“Rope It” is now tied with two other Jin cuts as his only tracks to fail to conquer the World Digital Song Sales chart by just one space. Both “Another Level” and “Abyss” also peaked at No. 2.

Echo Becomes Jin’s Longest-Running Solo Project

“Rope It” is featured on Jin’s second solo project Echo, an EP that was released in May of this year. The set brought him to a new high point on multiple Billboard tallies, including the Billboard 200, where it climbed to No. 3. That beat his previous high point — No. 4 — which his debut solo short effort Happy reached just months prior in November 2024.

“Rope It” Helps Echo Rise Again on a Billboard Chart

Perhaps buoyed by an uptick in sales of “Rope It,” Echo climbs on the World Albums chart, the only Billboard tally on which it appears this frame. The set jumps two spaces to No. 22. Earlier this year, Echo made it to No. 1, becoming Jin’s first solo chart-topper, as Happy missed the mark by a single spot.

Jin Beats His Own Longevity Record

As Echo finds space on the World Albums tally once more, it earns a special new spot within Jin’s discography. Last week, Echo and Happy were tied in terms of longevity, as both had managed 17 stays on the list of the most-consumed “world” projects in the United States. Now, with 18 frames spent on the roster, Echo becomes his longest-running success.

“Don’t Say You Love Me” Rises on the Global Rankings

As “Rope It” returns to the World Digital Song Sales chart, another track from Echo, the single “Don’t Say You Love Me,” climbs on both of Billboard’s worldwide tallies this frame. The song improves from No. 29 to No. 24 on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S., while pushing from No. 51 to No. 46 on the Billboard Global 200, which is slightly more all-encompassing as it also includes streams and sales from American consumers, while the former roster does not. “Don’t Say You Love Me” was a top 10 hit on the two planet-spanning rosters when it first arrived several months back.
