Jungkook of BTS has become the first K-pop solo artist to surpass 20 billion on-demand audio streams, achieving the milestone in the shortest period of time among Asian groups and solo acts.

On-demand streaming refers to a system in which users directly search for or select specific songs on music platforms. The record is seen as evidence of Jungkook’s strong global influence among music fans.

In particular, his solo debut track “Seven” set multiple speed records on Spotify, the world’s largest music streaming platform, reaching 100 million, 900 million, 1 billion and 1.1 billion streams in the fastest time. The song is officially listed by Guinness World Records in the United Kingdom as the fastest track in Spotify history to surpass 1 billion streams.

Behind Jungkook’s sustained success, observers point to what they describe as his “consistent self-care.” He is known to maintain his stamina through weight training and boxing.

Weight training stimulates muscle protein synthesis. When combined with aerobic exercise, it can help maintain muscle mass while promoting fat loss.

High-intensity interval training, or HIIT, like the routines Jungkook reportedly practices, can deliver significant effects in a short period of time. A study published in the Journal of Applied Physiology found that HIIT significantly improves fat oxidation capacity over a short duration.

Boxing, meanwhile, is a high-intensity interval workout that engages the entire body. The repetition of short explosive movements followed by recovery periods causes heart rates to rise and fall rapidly. Such training effectively enhances maximal oxygen uptake, or VO₂max.

Maximal oxygen uptake is a key indicator of cardiorespiratory endurance. For performers like Jungkook, who must sustain intense choreography and long stage performances, the ability to use oxygen efficiently over extended periods is crucial. Boxing, which he is said to enjoy regularly, appears to be a driving force behind his ability to perform lengthy concerts without fatigue.
