On April 1 KST, BTS (RM, Suga, Jin, V, J-Hope, Jimin, Jungkook) went live on the fan platform Weverse to share their thoughts on the success of ‘SWIM,’ the title track of their fifth full-length album ‘ARIRANG.’
RM shared, “I fell asleep exhausted yesterday and woke up at 3 AM to see everything going crazy. It’s all thanks to our fans who listened so much. I went live because I felt so grateful.”
Jin added, “We were celebrating among ourselves, but we thought it would be better to celebrate together with ARMY. It’s our first album after returning from the military, so it feels even more special to see it do so well.”
During the live broadcast, BTS also surprised fans by teasing new music. The members revealed that a hidden track will be included in the deluxe LP version of ‘ARIRANG,’ set for release on April 3. They shared, “It’s a song Suga felt strongly about, and it’s finally being released. It’s really special.”
Released on March 20, ‘ARIRANG’ features a total of 14 tracks including the title song ‘SWIM.’ Excluding the interlude track ‘No. 29,’ all 13 vocal tracks entered the Billboard Hot 100 chart dated April 4.
Notably, ‘SWIM’ topped not only the Hot 100 but also the Global 200 and Global (excluding U.S.) charts. In addition, all 13 tracks from the album swept positions No.1 through No.13 on the Global (excluding U.S.) chart, making BTS the first artist in Billboard history to occupy the entire Top 10 of the chart.
With this milestone, BTS once again demonstrated their unmatched global influence and deep connection with their fans.
