Mexico celebrates Mother’s Day, known as “Día de las Madres,” every year on May 10, and it is considered one of the country’s most important family-centered holidays.
During the final concert held on May 10 (local time), V addressed the audience in Spanish during his ending comment.
He said, “Mexico! I learned a little Spanish. I wanted to tell you in Spanish how happy I am right now. I missed Mexican ARMYs so much,” expressing his gratitude to fans.
V then added, “By the way, today is Mother’s Day. Did you celebrate it? Call your moms right now. Video call them… Mama Maria, Mama Teresa, Mama Lupe, Mama Coco! Thank you for raising us. Happy Mother’s Day, mothers!”
The crowd erupted into cheers as V mentioned several common Mexican women’s names during the emotional moment.
One Mexican fan named Mara later shared on X that she was deeply touched by the message.
“Today was a really difficult day, and I prayed for my mom. Her name is Lupe, and when Taehyung said that name, I cried so much,” she wrote.
Local Mexican media outlets also highlighted the moment. Newspaper Tabasco Hoy reported, “Everyone shined on stage, but the person who dominated social media was V. He surprised fans with quite fluent Spanish and delivered a touching message for Mother’s Day.”
TV program Cuéntamelo Ya! also featured the scene, describing it as “a heartfelt message dedicated to all mothers during the concert.”
Videos of the moment uploaded to TikTok reportedly surpassed 8.3 million views and gained more than 1.4 million likes.
