Kim Taehyung, aka V of BTS, has achieved another incredible feat as a soloist.
All the tracks from Taehyung’s first solo album “Layover” sold over 100,000 units in the U.S., the largest music market in the world. Taehyung has set a new record as the first K-pop soloist to do so with an album.

Notably, Taehyung is the only BTS member who did not have promotional activities in the US for his solo debut, underscoring his immense star power as promotion in itself.
Earlier in May, “Layover” also became the first album by a K-pop soloist in history to have every song surpass 100 million streams on Spotify.

Released in September 2023, “Layover” is an album based on the pop R&B genre that showcases Taehyung’s unique vocal style and artistic vision. The album was met with widespread acclaim for its innovative blend of lo-fi, pop, R&B, and jazz.
In addition to being named one of the top K-pop albums of 2023 by prominent publications like Billboard and Time Out, “Layover” was also selected as ‘Favorite Debut Album’ at the recent iHeartRadio Music Awards.
Congratulations, Taehyung.
