BTS member Jungkook has once again demonstrated his lasting influence on the global music scene.
According to Spotify, the title track “Standing Next to You” from Jungkook’s solo album ‘GOLDEN‘ surpassed 1.5 billion cumulative streams as of July 27.
The milestone marks Jungkook’s second song to reach the 1.5 billion-stream mark on Spotify. He previously achieved the feat with his solo hit “Seven.” Despite its 2023 release, “Standing Next to You” continues to enjoy steady popularity worldwide.
The song conveys a message of unwavering love, promising to stay by a loved one’s side through any hardship. It modernizes the old-school sound of disco-funk while showcasing a polished production featuring rich brass instrumentation, explosive percussion, and Jungkook’s groovy vocals.
The track also solidified Jungkook’s status as a top dance solo artist. In particular, his performance at TSX Entertainment in New York’s Times Square in 2023 drew widespread attention for its commanding stage presence and live standing-microphone choreography, further establishing him as a global pop star.
Commercially, “Standing Next to You” debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart dated November 18, 2023, and remained on the chart for a total of 19 weeks, making it Jungkook’s longest-charting solo song on the Hot 100.
In the United Kingdom, the song entered the Official Singles Top 100 at No. 6 and spent 11 weeks on the chart. It was also recognized as one of the Most Performed Songs of the Year at the 2025 BMI Pop Awards.
The accolades did not stop there. With “Standing Next to You,” Jungkook won Top Global K-Pop Song at the 2024 Billboard Music Awards and Best Dance Performance Male Solo at the 2024 MAMA Awards, further cementing the song’s global impact.
