It has been revealed that BTS member RM sent a generous wedding congratulatory gift to rapper Sleepy, drawing attention for his thoughtful gesture and long-standing personal connection with the artist.
On June 7, a video titled ‘BTS RM Wedding Gift 000 Million KRW’ was uploaded to the YouTube channel tingting_tingting. In the video, DinDin, Lee Seon Min, Uhm Ji Yoon, and Leo Ranta appeared and discussed various topics surrounding celebrity wedding culture and congratulatory gifts.
During the conversation, DinDin recalled attending Sleepy’s wedding, saying it was among the first weddings within his close circle of friends. He added that he had prepared a significant congratulatory gift worth approximately 8–9 million KRW (about 5,260–5,920 USD) in an effort to show his sincerity.
However, DinDin went on to note that his gesture was later surpassed by RM’s reportedly larger gift. According to him, RM had directly contacted Sleepy via message, saying, “I saw news about your wedding. Please share your account number.” RM then followed up with a congratulatory message and transferred 10 million KRW (about 6,573 USD).
DinDin also highlighted the meaningful background between the two artists, explaining that Sleepy had previously played a role in helping RM attend an audition that contributed to the early stages of BTS’s formation. The two are also known to share a connection rooted in hip-hop culture and the music scene.
Sleepy has previously spoken in broadcast appearances about observing RM during his trainee years, further reflecting their long-standing relationship.
Meanwhile, Sleepy married a non-celebrity partner eight years his junior in August 2022, and the couple has since welcomed two daughters.
RM is currently preparing for BTS’s upcoming world tour performances scheduled for June 12th and 13th at Busan Asiad Main Stadium.
