BTS member Suga’s solo track “Daechwita” has once again proven its global music power.
“Daechwita,” released in 2020 under Suga’s solo artist name Agust D, recently earned Gold single certification from Music Canada, the Canadian recording industry association.
The song is the title track on Suga’s second mixtape and is notable for sampling the traditional Korean marching music Daechwita. It combines trap beats with traditional Korean instruments, creating a harmony of tradition and hip-hop.
The track met the Gold certification criteria by surpassing 40,000 units sold in Canada. Upon release, it topped both the Canadian iTunes song chart and music video chart, drawing significant attention from local music fans.
Previously, “Daechwita” also achieved over 500,000 units in the United States, meeting the Gold certification standards of the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
Even five years after its release, “Daechwita” continues to receive steady love from music fans worldwide. Its official music video has surpassed 480 million views, maintaining long-term popularity.
