Global celebrations erupt for BTS Jungkook’s birthday
Fans around the world are marking BTS Jungkook’s birthday (September 1) with massive celebratory projects, turning cities across the globe into vibrant tributes to the beloved artist.
n X (formerly Twitter), hashtags and media celebrating the “world-class superstar” Jungkook have been trending globally, while physical birthday ads and public displays of affection are lighting up streets and landmarks.
United States
The fanbase Jungkook Global Website launched a 4-sided LED ad at LINE Friends Store in Times Square, New York. On September 1, ‘Golden JK Universe’, ‘Jungkook Global Website’, and ‘Jungkook USA’ will also display birthday messages on Sunset Strip’s tallest digital billboard.
Russia
Russian fans have secured a Times Square (Broadway 1560) billboard atop the Pele Soccer store. In Bryansk, birthday ads will also play on large screens at the Aeropark Mall on September 1.
Hungary
For the third consecutive year, Jungkook Hungary is running celebratory ads on two mega displays at Allee Shopping Mall in Budapest until September 1.
India
Jungkook India fans will showcase birthday ads from August 31 to September 1 on a billboard near Flurys in Park Street, Kolkata.
Philippines
Golden Alliance Philippines is organizing a video project at the Globe landmark in SM Mall of Asia on September 1. A separate large banner in Makati will remain up through September 9.
Thailand
From August 30 to September 5, 30 decorated tuk-tuks will roam the streets as part of a special “Jungkook Tuk-Tuk” campaign. A birthday ad will also run on the MBK Center Mega LED Screen in Bangkok during the same period.
Japan
Fan ‘Amina’ has secured LED ad spots in Tokyo’s Shinjuku Unica Vision, Fukuoka’s Dontaku Vision, and Sapporo TV Tower, which will shine purple lights for 20 minutes at 9 PM on September 1 to honor Jungkook.

Notably, on August 23–24, massive LED screens in Guangzhou and Xi’an displayed birthday videos, turning the cities into “Jungkook zones.”
