On June 11, BTS‘s label BIGHIT MUSIC released an announcement regarding the upcoming discharge of eldest member Jin from the military.
“Hello.
This is BIGHIT MUSIC.
We are excited to bring you the news of Jin’s upcoming military discharge.
Jin is close to completing his active service in the army and will soon be discharged.
Please note that the discharge day is reserved for military personnel only. No special events are planned on the day of Jin’s discharge. To prevent any issues arising from overcrowding, fans are strongly advised to refrain from visiting the site. Please convey your warm regards and encouragement in your hearts.
We are always grateful for your unwavering love and support for Jin. Our company will continue to put our utmost effort into supporting our artists.

June 12 marks the day that Jin, who was the first BTS member to start his military enlistment, is set to return from his time served. He originally enlisted on December 13, 2022, and the last 18 months have been long for many fans.
And so, now that the time has come for Jin to make his long-awaited return, ARMYs are understandably going wild on social media to show their love and support for the BTS member! Numerous hashtags and phrases are trending on Twitter for Jin, including some more “normal” ones such as “BTS Jin’s Military Discharge”, “RETURN OF OUR PRIDE JIN”, and #TheAstronautReturns_DDay. Some are more surprising, though, such as the phrase “DADDY’S HOME”.
Along with the trending topics and hashtags come plenty of fan edits and excited tweets, including amusement over the phrases taking off on social media for Jin.
