Truly the “idol of idols” 🤩
Jungkook may be in the military right now, but that hasn’t stopped him from taking over the stage at KCON LA 2024! Fans often nickname the golden maknae the “idol of idols,” and nothing has proved that better than just how many artists chose to cover Jungkook’s songs over the first two days of the event.
Most notable was BTS’s HYBE LABELS junior group TWS, whose members Shinyu, Dohoon, and Jihoon delivered a full-scale performance of Jungkook’s chart-topper “3D.”

It’s no secret that TWS are avid supporters of their sunbaenim; fellow member Kyungmin recently revealed that “Never Let Go” is the song he admires the most, previously mentioning how happy he was when he finally got to meet Jungkook himself. So, it comes as no surprise that the rookie group gave it their all for the special stage on KCON day two, with attendees deeming the performance “life-changing.”

But, TWS wasn’t the only group to bring Jungkook into the spotlight this weekend. Not one, but two ZEROBASEONE members also pulled out dance covers of Jungkook tracks for KCON LA‘s “Drop the Dance Connecting Stage.” Gunwook, for one, showed off his incredible skills with his rendition of “Standing Next to You.”

At this point, Gunwook is something of a Jungkook cover specialist, previously dancing to his tracks on multiple occasions.

Back in their last appearance at KCON LA 2023, ZEROBASEONE danced to “Seven” as a full group, and it seems the earworm hasn’t left their playlist to this day!

And if that wasn’t enough Jungkook for the KCON crowd, INI (a Japanese boy group formed on Produce 101 Japan 2) was also there to bring in the “Seven” love, alongside their covers of aespa‘s “Armageddon” and ENHYPEN‘s “Bite Me.”

The overwhelming presence of Jungkook’s music at the event this year had fans joking that the K-Pop event had transformed into an impromptu “Golden” listening party.

Many also laughed about the sheer number of fellow idols they’ll have to compete with for solo concert seats after Jungkook finishes his mandatory military service in June next year — and if KCON LA 2024 was anything to go by, fans better start brushing up on their ticketing skills!
