In 2023, BTS‘s Suga embarked on a 28-show solo world tour, SUGA | Agust D D–DAY, visiting 10 cities throughout the United States and Asia.
During the tour, he had a number of celebrity guests join him on stage at select shows, including his fellow members Jungkook, RM, and Jimin, as well as veteran artist PSY and American singer-songwriters MAX and Halsey.
MAX and Suga collaborated on the tracks “Blueberry Eyes” and “Burn It,” while Halsey and Suga collaborated on tracks “Lilith (Diablo IV Anthem),” “SUGA’s Interlude,” and the BTS song “Boy With Luv.”
MAX and Halsey separately joined Suga on stage to perform while the BTS member was in LA. While backstage with Suga, they both sweetly brought gifts for him.
MAX was able to introduce the BTS member to his wife, Emily, who had helped pick a custom gift for Suga. Emily explained the first gift was custom-made in New York, and though it wasn’t shown on camera, it may have been related to the Los Angeles Lakers as MAX stated Emily had looked up that the Lakers were his favorite team. The second gift was The Balvenie PortWood 21-year-old single-malt whisky, a bottle that is often priced over $300 USD.
Halsey seemed to have the same thought process as she selected her gift for Suga. While they were backstage, she acknowledged he was on a tight schedule and encouraged him to open the gift when he had time later; he immediately guessed what it was based on the size.
Suga hilariously correctly identified his gift as Hibiki whisky.
