Today (October 20), LE SSERAFIM released a teaser video on their social media and YouTube pages of their track, “THE KICK,” – off their highly-anticipated 1st Single Album SPAGHETTI (out on October 24) – featuring j-hope of BTS.
In the teaser, there is a shadow seen with lights flashing behind them. Though their face isn’t show right then, those who are familiar with K-pop will recognize that figure instantly. j-hope is then seen grooving, lights flashing, to LE SSERAFIM’s signature energetic beats, with his face eventually shown. The video ends with the LE SSERAFIM and j-hope’s name, then the words “EAT IT UP,” as both the group and j-hope harmonize those words.
LE SSERAFIM – members Kim Chaewon, Sakura, Huh Yunjin, Kazuha, and Hong Eunchae – are set to release their next album this Friday, seven months after the global success of the 5th EP, HOT, which debuted at No. 9 on the Billboard 200. The title, SPAGHETTI, captures the group’s “irresistible charm that entangles you like strands of spaghetti,” with the promise that it will stay with their fans – known as FEARNOT. FEATNOT are ready to “eat up” their new music.
“THE KICK” promo marks one of many of their promotional content – “CHEEKY NEON PEPPER,” “SAMPLER PLATTER,” and “EAT IT UP.”
This isn’t the first time they’ve collaborated with j-hope. Huh Yunjin was previously featured on j-hope’s Special Album HOPE ON THE STREET VOL 1 on the track “I don’t know.”
The group has worked with many international artists. Earlier this year, Kim Chaewon was featured in JVKE’s butterflies alongside TAEHYUN of TOMORROW X TOGETHER. Other artists like Jade, PinkPantheress, and Nile Rodgers have worked on remixed versions of LE SSERAFILM’s popular songs, “HOT” (featuring JADE), “CRAZY” (featuring PinkPantheress), and “UNFORGIVEN” (featuring Nile Rodgers).
j-hope has been busy preparing for BTS’s return in 2016 with their comeback, alongside members RM, Jin, Suga, Jimin, V, and Jung Kook. After all completing their military service this year, they began working on new music, set for early next year.
LE SSERAFIM’s SPAGHETTI will be available on all streaming platforms worldwide on October 24 at 1 PM KST.
