Kim Taehyung, aka V of BTS, has excited fans with his first vinyl release.
On September 20, BIGHIT MUSIC announced the vinyl edition of Taehyung’s debut album,Layover, ahead of its first anniversary.
BIGHIT MUSIC said, “V’s first solo album, Layover, released in 2023, beautifully captures the artist’s emotions and has been widely cherished for showcasing his natural, unfiltered self. In response to the overwhelming love and support for V and his album, we are excited to announce that Layover will be available on vinyl.”
Taehyung’s love for vintage, retro, and nostalgia is deeply embedded in the aesthetics and sound of Layover. The album evokes a sense of bygone eras, making it a perfect fit for a vinyl release.
Layover’s sound, characterized by a blend of jazz, R&B, lo-fi, and pop, creates an auditory journey through time. Visually, the music videos use old film aesthetics, enhancing the album’s theme of longing and nostalgia.
In September 2023, Taehyung made history with Layover by becoming the first soloist to simultaneously sell over 2 million copies on both the Hanteo and Circle (Gaon) charts within just two weeks of its release.
