Jin is earning praise not only for his star power but also for his down-to-earth charm on Netflix’s original series ‘Kian’s Bizarre B&B’, which continues to top the streaming platform’s chart in South Korea.
At a press conference held on April 15th at a hotel in Jongno, Seoul, co-star Ji Ye Eun jokingly shared her initial hesitation around Jin, saying, “He was working so hard, and since he’s BTS, I was a bit intimidated and tried to keep my distance.” However, she added, “It was impossible in that space, and Jin made me feel comfortable right away. Now, to me, BTS is Jin oppa, and that’s it.”
Jin humorously reflected on that dynamic, saying, “People often think that getting close to a BTS member means you’ll get criticized, so they hesitate. That’s why I tend to overcompensate and approach them first.”
Fellow cast member Kian84 chimed in with similar affection: “To me, BTS is only Jin,” drawing laughter from the room. He also spoke candidly about the physical and emotional toll of filming: “After three days of shooting, Ji Ye Eun cried. She was exhausted, and so was I—there was a lot of pressure and I ended up crying too. But Jin was different. We really leaned on him.”
Jin, in turn, emphasized the unique appeal of the show: “Even though it was hard physically, I think that kind of chaotic fun is the heart of this content. I didn’t compromise unless it was about safety. This show isn’t about doing things the easy way.” He added light-heartedly, “It wasn’t that hard for me personally—I’ve always been busy. But when I saw how tough it was for Yae Eun and Kian84, I thought, ‘Was it really that bad?’”
‘Kian’s Bizarre B&B’ is an offbeat guesthouse variety show set in Ulleungdo, where Jin, Kian84, and Ji Yae Eun host and interact with guests in unpredictable situations. Produced by the team behind ‘Hyori’s Bed & Breakfast’, the show has struck a chord with viewers and remains No.1 on Netflix Korea.
The 9-episode series releases three episodes every Tuesday at 4 PM.
