In celebration of Kim Taehyung‘s (V of BTS) ‘TYPE 1’ photobook release, the ‘ARTSPACE: TYPE 1’ global art exhibition is underway.
On July 12, exhibitions began in four out of the six cities announced for ‘ARTSPACE: TYPE 1’: Seoul, Bangkok, Vancouver, and Taipei. LA and Tokyo are scheduled for later dates.
“ARTSPACE: TYPE 1” feature a variety of zones where visitors can see Taehyung’s natural state and relaxed moments up close. The design of these spaces reflects the flow of ‘TYPE 1’photobook’s chapters, allowing visitors to experience the atmosphere in person.
This marks the first global art exhibition done by a K-pop soloist and the event drew in a huge crowd. Long lines of fans queuing for the event were spotted since Day 1.
Since the photobook’s title, “TYPE 1,” commonly refers to photographs developed from the original negative, Taehyung included a darkroom concept in the exhibition to show the process of his photos being developed.
