Netflix and Shondaland‘s hit period drama Bridgerton, adapted from Julia Quinn‘s novel series, finally returned last week with Season 3. It focuses on beloved characters Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) and Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton).

While everyone can’t stop talking about the infamous carriage scene (if you know, you know) featuring the orchestral version of Pitbull‘s 2011 track “Give Me Everything,” there is another classical cover of a pop song we need to discuss.

This again shows the world how music is the international language that transcends over boundaries more so how a hit song can remain timeless. Thank you @bridgerton and @netflix for the opportunity, Dale!@NeYoCompound @afrojack pic.twitter.com/lyGfK4Olp6

My neighbor, I assume: “why is that bitch next door playing the same 60 sec audio of orchestral Pitbull over and over at Max volume?

And that is BTS‘s “Dynamite.”

In 2022, Vitamin String Quartet teased ARMYs via Twitter (now X), asking what BTS song they would like to hear in Season 3 of Bridgerton.

Do we have any #Bridgerton and #BTS fans in the house? If you could hear one track from our upcoming #BTS album in S3, which one would it be? 🤔💜🎻

— Vitamin String Quartet (@WeAreVSQ) September 28, 2022

Ahead of Bridgerton Season 3 Part 1’s release, Netflix revealed the list of orchestral covers included, and BTS’s “Dynamite” was confirmed.

THIS JUST IN: Orchestral Covers you’ll hear in Bridgerton Season 3 Part 1:

Billie Eilish, Happier Than Ever
BTS, Dynamite
GAYLE, abcdefu
Pitbull, Give Me Everything
Nick Jonas, Jealous
Sia, Cheap Thrills
Taylor Swift and Lana Del Rey, Snow On The Beach

— Netflix (@netflix) May 13, 2024

Naturally, ARMYs were excited BTS would be featured in some way.

Yet many were also disappointed and skeptical. They had wished for “Black Swan” from the start, and it felt like the perfect choice.

amazing but black swan was right there https://t.co/XZY4VIIUv3

Still, ARMYs attempted to watch Bridgerton with an open mind. The Vitamin String Quartet version of BTS’s “Dynamite” was heard in Episode 2 of Season 3, as Eloise spoke to her new lady friends at a ball while others danced to the song. Many ARMYs felt a sense of pride as they watched the scene and heard the familiar tune.

what a delight to hear Dynamite playing in the new season of Bridgerton 👑#DYNAMITE #BTS pic.twitter.com/LgxhAnJQvP

@saucy0tae To clarify: I’m not mad bc they played it for so little time but mad bc they didnt use a better song or do research (video clip from watching a different movie) #bts #kpop #kpopfyp #btsarmy #bts_official_bighit #bridgerton #bridgertonseason3 ♬ Bridgerton – The Harmony Group

An ARMY, Eliott (@onceiwasbeloved on TikTok), was one of the many ARMYs who still felt disappointed by the song choice.

@onceiwasbeloved Whack. #oiwb #bts #btsarmy #bridgerton #mots7 ♬ original sound – Eliott

So, they have shared clips from Bridgerton with orchestral versions of popular BTS songs. The clip with fan-favorite “Black Swan” garnered 303.3K views at the time of writing.

@onceiwasbeloved If only literally anyone on the production team actually LISTENED to bts #oiwb #bts #btsarmy #blackswan #BRIDGERTON ♬ Black Swan (Orchestral Version) – OMJamie

Eliott posted another clip, but this time with “Pied Piper.” It went viral with 1.3M views at the time of writing.

@onceiwasbeloved Shall i go on? #oiwb #bridgerton #bts #btsarmy #piedpiper @Bridgerton ♬ original sound – MoMoMo

Eliott even revisited Season 1, during one of Simon and Daphne’s iconic scenes, with “Fake Love.”

@onceiwasbeloved 🥱 #bridgeton #bts #btsarmy #oiwb #fakelove @Bridgerton @Shondaland ♬ Fake Love (Orchestral Version) – MDP

A most chilling reimaging was “Mikrokosmos” for one of Queen Charlotte and King George’s dance scenes. For Queen Charlotte lovers, there’s also the heartwrenching dance scene of Reynolds and Brimsley with “Spring Day.”

@onceiwasbeloved I know the rhythm of the song doesn’t match the dance but bffr – it’s their song #bridgerton #bts #btsarmy #oiwb #mikrokosmos #oiwb ♬ original sound – MoMoMo

@onceiwasbeloved I hurt my own feelings with this one #oiwb #bridgerton #bts #btsarmy #springday ♬ original sound – :))

How amazing would these scenes have been?

Unfortunately, likely, we’d never get one of BTS’s more beloved songs in Bridgerton. As some have pointed out, “Dynamite” was distributed by UMG (Universal Music Group). The other songs would probably be far more complicated and even more expensive to get the rights to use.

Check out Bridgerton Season 3, Part 1, out now, and Part 2, on June 13.
