Jin reacts with surprise to being called ‘Ahjussi’.

On October 8th KST, the YouTube channel ‘BANGTANTV’ released a new episode titled ”[Run Jin] EP.9 | Blood, Sweat, and Chilies.” In the video, Jin visits a pepper farm in Yeoncheon, Gyeonggi-do, to help a farm in need of extra hands during the summer season.

Jin shared a humorous story, saying, “I’ve done farming before. My uncle grows strawberries and melons, and my mom once told me, ‘If you’re not going to study, go help your uncle on the farm,’ so I spent a month farming,” bringing laughter to the scene.

Jin joined university students who participate in volunteer work at rural farms every year. He mentioned that their visit coincided with his filming schedule, so he decided to lend a hand.

As Jin started picking peppers, he asked the students why they were participating in the volunteer work. One student responded, “We need to help rural communities. I came last year, and even though it was tough, I made a lot of memories, so I came back.”

At one point, Jin noticed a pepper that a student had missed and jokingly said, “I’ve already picked this many.” The student quipped, “Didn’t the farm owner give those to you earlier?” Jin, playing along, laughed and said, “These days, kids talk back so much,” referring to a playful “back in my day” moment, adding humor to the exchange.

When asked what they should call him, Jin casually replied, “Call me uncle or hyung, whatever is comfortable.” However, when another student asked, “Can we call you ahjussi (mister)?” Jin, though momentarily surprised, admitted with a laugh, “Technically, age-wise, I’m an ahjussi. Back in my day, anyone in their late 20s was considered an ahjussi.”

Despite the hot weather, Jin worked hard, skillfully filling his basket with peppers and earning praise from the farm owner for his proficiency. Jin shared that his family used to grow peppers, and as he reminisced, he continued chatting with his mother while completing his tasks.
